Step1 STEM

Ages 9 – 99

This program will provide students with the following:

  • understanding of computer programming basic concepts

  • understanding of what a micro-controller is, and why we should be excited (emphasis on the Arduino platform)

  • understanding of the most common and interesting electronic components / parts, and how they play a part in our everyday life (emphasis on servos, LED’s and audio modules)

  • understanding of how to design and build some electronic circuits, and when they don’t work, we’ll then learn how to troubleshoot and fix the issues

  • unlike most other STEM programs out there, we focus on real world application of the electronic and programming skills learned. We do not use tooling that has been watered down or tailored to young children. We will learn on large scale software and tools, which when completed, will prepare students for real world application rather than simply hobbyist activities. This is where Enchanted Tech Labs really shines!

5 Week program

Each program consists of five 2 hour sessions for a total of 10 training hours! Session dates are determined and posted ahead of registration so each student can plan ahead. The goal of a full program is for each student to build a final project which showcases what they have collectively learned in each of the five sessions.

BONUS: The students also get to keep their final projects!

Hands-on materials are included!

Each student will be provided with their own workstations and project material at the beginning of the program. Individual workstations will be used by students to learn how to write code, troubleshoot their code, and ultimately how to upload their code to their projects.

Hands-on activities

Each session will focus on one specific part of the final project, with time being given to explain all key concepts. Students will then apply what they have just learned with direct hands-on activities.

Future Sessions

All Step1 programs are created to provide a baseline understanding of specific interests. From the Step1 program, students can then begin to build upon that base understanding and gain further, more advanced training catered to what they are truly interested in. Whether that be the next level of computer programming, advanced electronic circuit building, 3D printing or something else! Look for Step2 programs as they are released.

Engage your
growing curiosity

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to learn how to build a tiny robot, or even a large robot! Maybe you want to have your plants text you when they need water. Or maybe you simply have a creative project you wish to share with the world.

$250

Step1 STEM

This price includes everything a student would need to fully complete this program. The only thing required of the student, besides showing up, is to bring their curiosity and sense of imagination!
