Knight Rider KITT

Here we have our Knight Rider KITT replica box! This box looks like you took it right out of Knight Rider. While the unit is idle, a graphic will display on the screen showing the cars internals. Upon pressing one of the action buttons, KITT will come alive and speak while at the same time the screen will display some type of diagnostic just like in the TV show. Once the diagnostic is completed, the unit will go back to idle and show the car overlay once again. Both the KITT code as well as the diagnostic videos, button interface and all custom features were hand coded in both Python for the raspberry pi as well as the arduino IDE.

• Case is a simple projects box purchased online that is cut to fit electronics

• Actual KIT LED component was purchased by third party online retailer

• Including electronics:

  • External speakers

  • Raspberry Pi 3+ as the core processor running the graphics and button inputs

  • Small LED screen purchased online and connected to Raspberry Pi HDMI output

  • KITT component output is ran through an arduino uno

  • All Raspberry pi code was written in Python and graphics were captured from the actual TV show as well as all audio clips

  • Various LED lights, buttons and switches

  • Audio output is ran through a DF Player mini connected to the Arduino uno
